I have written, edited or contributed to or collaborated on more than a dozen books.
As a journalist, I spent more than 10 years as a foreign correspondent for United Press International, based in Rome, Brussels, London, Belgrade, Warsaw and Vienna and wrote hundreds of articles on topics ranging from boxing prize fights to the Solidarnosc revolution and Martial Law Poland to East-West arms control talks. (And everything in between).
My freelance articles and reports have appeared in media including The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, Business Week, The Independent on Sunday, Tablet Magazine, The Forward, Newsday, CBC Radio, The Christian Science Monitor, Moment Magazine, Hadassah Magazine, Italy Italy magazine, Ulysse (inflight magazine of Alitalia) and many, many more. I am the senior European correspondent for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
